Now this is the kind of news that just makes sense. VH1 has called on ?uestlove of The Roots to executive produce a series entitled Soundclash, which is said to feature three musical acts performing on stage at the same damn time. The host? Diplo. Like we said, this combination just makes sense when you think of the worlds that collide when Diplo gets on one, as well as the different genres that ?uestlove has charted as a band leader and performer.
The first episode of this series will debut on July 23, and is said to feature Lil Wayne, Fall Out Boy, and London Grammar, with episode two featuring Ed Sheeran, Sia, and Grouplove. We'll see how this works; with Diplo just hosting, we wonder how involved in the actual performances he'll be, or if he'll literally just guide us through the taped practices and performances.
Word from the AP is that Soundclash will also air on Palladia, a digital cable and satellite TV Network.
