When it comes to futuristic bass musics in America, one name you have to include is Distal. In 2012, his debut album Civilization was released on Tectonic (an imprint that was instrumental in getting early dubstep sounds from Skream, Loefah, and others into the ether), and for his second release, he's dropping Retrograde Space Opera on his new imprint, Sci-Fi. While details are scarce, we're told that the album will house a more mature sound from Distal, featuring "various avant-garde space ballads, sound design compositions as well as dance-floor tunes." We also have a feeling his new website might hold some details. "Welcome To The Anarchostar" is taken from the album, and available to preview down below. It's a two-minute tune that definitely feels like it could be the score in a Star Wars film (or something). When we get more info on this project, we'll let you know.
