Seaside Heights Might Not Bring Electric Adventure Back After Arrests, Overdoses Over the Weekend

With a weekend that featured both Lollapalooza, the Mad Decent Block Party, and HARD Summer, we can see EDM festivals like Electric Adventure in Seaside Heights, NJ being overlooked. Hell, the biggest "news" coming from the festival was KDrew's ordeal over having to promote the event. With the word coming from Electric Adventure's Seaside Heights debut, this might've been their first and last hurrah at Seaside.

The Star-Ledger is reporting that there were 42 arrests and 34 overdoses connected to Electric Adventure this weekend. This included 20 drug-related offenses. And those were just the adults; four juveniles were arrested for drug possession, while three other juveniles got busted on lesser charges.

Ocean County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Al Della Fave Electric Adventure organizers didn't properly discuss with local law enforcement regarding proper preparation for this two-day event, saying that due to the way this was handled, there's no guarantee of Electric Adventure returning:

"This was the first time this concert was held in Seaside Heights and the prosecutor is not happy with the way this event went down and we don't know whether we want it back there. Law enforcement was advised of this event on Wednesday, three days before the show and we did not receive intelligence reports or any kind of pre-notice about the types of issues they usually have at these concerts."

The same Star-Ledger report does point out that the police force was on hand throughout, so they at least knew to have a number of hands on deck, but that's definitely different than what we assume has to be the security and medical staff that ended up having to be called in to help assist with all of these issues. Time will tell what happens to Electric Adventure in Jersey in 2015; it was held at Six Flags Great Adventure in 2012 and 2013. Maybe it's time to return?
