I don't use Reddit... only because the last thing I need in my life is yet another social media distraction, but maybe I should especially after hearing just how influential of a tool it can be when it comes to getting your music out there. Case and point: a 20-year-old producer from Portland who goes by the name of Electric Mantis. He posted on Reddit how Djemba Djemba influenced him to make his latest track "Flips and Flops, Drips and Drops," and Djemba Djemba stumbled upon it and ended up reposting it on his SoundCloud. This obviously got a lot of attention, promtping Electric Mantis to hit up Reddit once again, sharing what happened and thanking Djemba Djemba for reposting the track in a post that ended up getting upvoted to the point where his track went from 30 plays to over 200,000 plays in the span of three days. Electric Mantis stated:

"I am forever grateful to you guys and good ol' Djemba Djemba... You guys didn't make my day, you didn't make my year, you made my life. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to do what I love for a living. To all of you other producers and music makers out there, keep it up! You might find your lucky break sooner than you think. Until then just keep creating, creating, creating! Love you all!"

Hearing this story, you can't help but smile and realize how the internet can connect people in ways never imagined. As far as the track itself, it reminds me of Flume and it's pretty melodic and very uplifting, definitely a must have for that long drive. The track is up for free download, so listen and show this kid some love. Here's the Reddit post if you'd like to upvote it and keep it going.
