The last we heard, Made Event hired lobbyists to ensure that Electric Zoo 2014 gets the proper permits to go down during Labor Day Weekend 2014 at Randall's Island. These are apparently given later in the year, but even without that confirmation in hand, Made is still making plans for Electric Zoo 2014 as normal, but have made it a point to vocalize the heightened security they are planning on getting for this year's festival. What do they have in store? The Wall Street Journal reports that festival goers "will be required to watch an antidrug public-service announcement online, delivered by electronic-music stars, to activate the wristbands that get them into the event."

Interesting. Maybe Tiesto telling you to keep away from drugs will ensure that heads won't be partaking?

The festival is also set to start later and end earlier. They also plan on having amnesty bins, which many EDM fans saw at Georgia's TomorrowWorld festival last year.

The question is will any of this help deter drug use/abuse? One can't say, but it's a good start.
