With the dance music scene busting at the seams every month, some labels find tracks and artists that they love, but don't necessarily fit the scope of their label. That's where the fly sister imprints come in, and Defected (which counts artists like Dennis Ferrer, Roger Sanchez, Bob Sinclair, Martin Solveig, and others on their roster) has announced the start of DFTD, a new label that "will complement its parent label and have a more diverse musical remit, releasing a broad range of electronic music, focussing on quality, discerning dance music." The first release on DFTD will be the Hope EP from Guti, which is beautiful mixture of house that's full of soul and passion. You can expect this release to drop on June 3, and be followed by releases from Jonas Rathsman, Forrest and Pitto.
