Hudson Mohawke Says His New Album is Done

I'm not sure about you, but Hudson Mohawke and Lunice saying TNGHT was going on hiatus so they could focus on their solo material was music to my ears. I love TNGHT and what they became, but HudMo tracks like "Cbat" can still get me turnt. When I got wind of his forthcoming Chimes EP, I felt kind of weird, primarily because this wasn't necessarily "new" material–fans had been salivating over these bits for a while.

In a recent "Beat Construction" interview with The FADER, HudMo said that this was by design:

"We did “Chimes” and then decided we would do an EP before the full length. I had this back catalog of music that I didn’t want on the new record, but I do want to release it. So I might as well put this out." And when he says "full length," he's definitely talking about the album that he's completed that's "not for another few months. It’s finished, but I’m keeping it quite under wraps. Just focusing on this EP first."

Kind of wild, but it's a great nugget of info, knowing that we could be getting a HudMo album before year's end/early 2015. He also mentioned that he has been working on Kanye's next album, although he purposefully tore himself away to focus more in his material, and has been working on projects for other artists, too. Basically, expect a flood of Hudson Mohawke-produced material in the near future.
