At 72 years of age, I wouldn't expect Judge Judy to know what a rave or the Electric Daisy Carnival was. Hell, my mom barely knows about EDM, and I write about it all of the time! None of that makes this clip of Judge Judy turning her nose up at the concept of this woman working raves any less funny.
The story goes that this woman Talina Apodoca was the plaintiff in a case. She was talking about working in Las Vegas, mentioning that she was "working EDC." Apparently it was known that she was on disability, and Judge Judy wanted to know why she would work a "wave" (yes, she said "wave") instead of a 9-5 gig in an office. Maybe this is the first time talk of a rave has entered Judge Judy's courtroom (which would be pretty shocking), but it's a funny back and forth that involves the bailiff and the defendant trying to make Judy understand what a rave really is.
You can check out the clip on Gawker. Below are tweets from the public who watched the episode:
Judge Judy: you were working at a rave in Vegas instead of working a desk job bc you can only work part time from cancer? WHAT IS A RAVE?!!
