Jay Z‘s Budweiser Made In America festival will be doing something special for their 2014 edition: it will go on simultaneously in Philadelphia and Los Angeles during Labor Day Weekend. Fans will know that the last two years have found the festival bringing a number of huge acts to Philadelphia, but you know Hov always has to flip the script. This will be the first festival to go on simultaneously on both coasts, and both shows will be livestreamed to the Internets.
And while the lineups aren’t being made available as of yet, the LA Weekly is reporting some very interesting news:
“Two concert industry sources with knowledge of the situation told us that Made in America organizer Live Nation was weighing the possibility of having two of America’s largest rave-oriented promoters host the dance stage at Made in America.
The Hard festival would take Saturday and Insomniac Events would take Sunday. But the idea is just that, a proposal in its early stages, we were told. Live Nation owns Hard as well as half of Insomniac.“
Their thought is that, due to the issues that promoters in the LA area have had with certain venues (for a plethora of reasons), piggybacking off of Jay Z’s Live Nation-promoted Made In America festival could help bring EDM to the area. And with Insomniac and HARD being on board, it’d be very interesting to see what they could bring forth.
Note that none of these EDM ventures have been confirmed, but it’d make sense.
