Going to Miami Music Week for the first time, I wasn't quite sure what parties and events I'd hit up, but one I was sure about was Mat Zo and Porter Robinson at Mansion. After taking in the first day of Ultra in downtown, I headed to South Beach where I hit the famed Mansion. While there are other esteemed places in South Beach like LIV and Story, it's Mansion that truly captures the Miami Beach life.
With it's fluorescent blue theme, Mansion fits a certain motif that really only works in South Beach; anywhere else it would be tacky. As cheesy as the decor may be, there was nothing cheese about Mat Zo and Porter Robinson on the bill. The two young stars each turned in great sets with Mat and Porter each showing why they had their own Miami Music Week headlining events.
And it wouldn't have been a Miami Music Week party without the special appearances of their friends, Hardwell and Zedd. Mansion is one of those places that any South Beach clubber/raver has to check out. With the top of the line talent like Mat and Porter headlining, a crisp Funktion 1 sound system, and the bespectacled nature of Mansion, it's fair to say that 'Lovin You Is Easy was in fact easy to love. Right now, we're just waiting anxiously for Mat's album and we'll give you every piece we can along the way.
But before the album, this Sunday, April 14, we will see the official release of "Easy," along with a number of remixes. The package will of course include the original mix, as well as remixes from drum & bass legend Andy C, Lemaître, Botnek, and Modek. Each remix is sure to provide a different twist on this instant classic. We're sure that we'll hear it all summer long if not beyond. You can pre-order it via iTunes today.
