Zedd, Calvin Harris, and A-Trak Nominated for 2013 MTV Video Music Awards

It’s that time of year when MTV acknowledges the music videos that don’t get nearly enough play on Music Television. That’s right, the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards is going down on August 25 in Brooklyn, and the full list of nominees has been announced. While EDM doesn’t have a huge representation in this year’s categories, we are loving the fact that Zedd’s “Clarity” video has received a nomination for, um, “Artist to Watch” (an award that’s presented by Taco Bell), with the likes of The Weeknd and Iggy Azalea as his competition. A-Trak & Tommy Trash’s “Tuna Melt” video is up for “best cinematography” (it was a well-done clip), while Calvin Harris is up for two MTV VMAs: “Sweet Nothing” is up for “best editing” and “I Need Your Love” for “best collaboration. You can check out the full list of nominees via MTV, and get an idea of the competition the EDM nominees have in their respective categories down below.
