While Obey City has had a handful of releases out there, DAD gets the feeling that not too many of you are up on his cipher. He's part of that burgeoning "underground" crew that's heavy into beats... be they trap, 2-step, or anything else under the sun. Many of you might remember that Baauer remixed Obey City's "Neva Knew," but forget all of that for right now: Obey City has been snapped up by LuckyMe, with the Brooklynite's Champagne Sounds EP due out on August 8 on vinyl and digital download (with a follow-up, Merlot Sounds, set to drop later this year). This isn't some turnt affair, though; from the vibes of the preview up above, it feels more like the epic regal flavor that we've been pondering life to in the midnight hour. We'll see what the full six-track release sounds like.
