If you've followed the dance music scene even a little, you would at least know that drug use and dance music seemingly go hand in hand, not unlike the way drug use and the hippie movement did back in the 1960s. With EDM looking great for investor dollars, though, the potential rate of increase in regards to drug overdoses at these events is prevalent, and seemed to be the reason behind a recent L.A.Times article on the connections between drug use and rave culture, particularly when it comes to Insomniac, the company behind the mega-successful Electric Daisy Carnivals; it's been reported that, since 2006, at least 14 people "have died from overdoses or in other drug-related incidents" at events thrown by Insomniac or Go Ventures, Reza Gerami's promotion.

Not one to take things lying down, Insomniac's Pasquale Rotella took to Instagram and posted a "call to action" on the piece, making it known that he felt the interview neglected to mention the steps Insomniac takes regarding security, that the onus is still on the individual at the event to take responsibility for their lives and actions, and that while ecstasy is a problem, it's not just a rave problem, it's a global issue. He also asked that supporters voice their opinions on the article to the L.A.Times. Check out this screen grab of his comments:
