Rustie, Darq E Freaker Among Producers on Danny Brown’s “Old” LP

DANNY-BROWN-1

One of 2013′s highly-anticipated albums is Danny Brown’s Old, which will be released via A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold imprint. As many know, Danny has an affinity for bass music, eschewing his love for grime to Mike Skinner during their Noisey “Back & Forth” series.

Building off the massive “Blueberry (Pills & Cocaine),” Darq E Freaker is reported to have production credits on the album, as well as Rustie, which seems kind of surprising. Danny told Pitchfork that Rustie ended up emailing him at the right time:

“He’s actually the guy that ended the album, to be honest,” Brown says. “I was kind of stuck, and through a stroke of God, he emailed me and said, ‘Yo, I want to submit you some tracks for the album.’ I thought I was done, but I knew I needed a little more flair. He sent me seven beats, and I ended up using three of them.”

Those three beats from Rustie should help us forget that Danny and TNGHT met while he was in London, but there won’t be any beats from the dynamic duo on Old. Both are busy men, so it makes sense if time didn’t permit them to send off beats. And again, Danny and Rustie together on three tracks?! Should help push this as one of THE albums of 2013.
