The Best EDM of the Week

With this week being Daft Punk Week, you might think it was hard to keep up with the rest of the scene. That's not us. We know when to hold 'em, and to know when to post 'em. Here's the best EDM this week, from ferocious drum & bass mixes to serene beats for your lazy weekend, brought to you by Pigeons & Planes.

2. Disclosure ft. AlunaGeorge - "White Noise"

This is exactly what we’re looking for; awesome vocals over a catchy, bouncy beat. Mark my words: this sound is NOT going away.

3. Major Lazer ft. Flux Pavilion - “Jah No Partial (Heroes x Villains Remix)”

HxV gets the proper trap flavor onto Major Lazer & Flux’s nasty dub-drenched banger. The Atlanta bass music crew are taking any prisoners on this one.

4. Boddika & Joy Orbison - “&Fate”

Spaced-out, quirky house for the chinstrokers. This is taken from Nonplus’ Think and Change album, which drops in March.

5. Valentino Khan - “Twerk 4 Gold”

This is week one of Khan’s #TRAPTHURSDAYS series that DAD is presenting. If you’re a female in the club when this one comes on, you will be asked to twerk. Either head to the bathroom or practice your #teamtwerk moves.

6. Knife Party - “Power Glove”

This duo has a new EP dropping in February and previewed this gem on Turntable.fm earlier this week. Electro house with classic samples from one of Nintendo’s best devices. You haven’t lived until you’ve been to a party and seen a chick walk round with a power glove on.

7. DMX - “Ruff Ryders Anthem (B.Dolla Remix)”

B.Dolla came correct with this EDM remix of DMX’s banger. He kept the intensity of this classic, but added the right touches to bring it to the now. This will make a club go crazy.

8. Sazon Booya - “Oye Mami” EP

What do you do six months after being featured in a New York Lottery commercial? Create a dope EP that is dropped, track-by-track, on sites like MTV and Mad Decent. This week’s moombahton shakedown, dropping with their Mayhem & Moombah documentary.

9. Noisia - “Stigma (Neosignal Remix)”

This isn’t a new track at all, but the video dropped in announcing that Neosignal has signed with Noisia’s Division imprint. Their album is, no lie, described as “neo digital krautrock.” This isn’t that, but we love that term.

10. Rene LaVice - "Thorax"

That thing where we had no idea Toronto’s Rene LaVice was dropping an album in February until we got this album-track for free. Proper back to the future drum & bass; his album Insidious will be one to look out for.

11. Hucci - "Cashmere"

Trap prodigy Hucci is twisting the genre in his own vision. Oddly enough, this melancholy banger might not even make it onto his next EP!
