You know what's funny? A batch of UK dance music fans will give Do Androids Dance hell for even mentioning a term like EDM, yet one of the main dance music institutions in the UK, BBC Radio 1, continues to add "EDM" DJs to their regular rotation. Nicky Romero was a part of In New DJs We Trust last year, and Steve Angello has been dropping mixes for the BBC Radio 1 Residency (which replaced "In New DJs We Trust) over the last few months. Today the BBC announced that Tiesto and Martin Garrix have been added to the BBC Radio 1 Residency rotation, starting on April 24 and May 1, respectively. They join the current rotation, which also features James Blake, Brodinski, Nervo, and Rockwell.

This is a larger part of the big 2014 Garrix is already lining up; a press conference was held in Miami today where Martin (alongside Scooter Braun) didn't reveal much, aside from news that Garrix's first pop track could be happening, as he's been working with Ed Sheeran. We'll see if Atlantic clears it, and keep you posted on any new details on this new collaboration.
