We can’t help but smile when we see successful musicians taking time to help the artistic community, and we have to take a moment to raise our glass to those that have recently made charitable contributions. Steve Aoki helped raise $65,000 for neurological health. Ultra Music sold items on eBay for the MusicCares Hurricane Sandy Releif Fund. Dillon Francis sold signed t-shirts that raised over $6000 for Chicago public high schools. Candyland sold a song with all proceeds to go to helping the city of Boston after the marathon bombings. A-Trak, Tittsworth, and Valentino Khan popped through The Optimist Youth Home in Los Angeles to give youths tutorials in DJing and production. These are actions that aren’t par for the course, and should be applauded. There’s a new one on our radar though that benefits financially strapped musicians and offers a raffle with a really cool grand prize, and thought to shed some light.
Wondr is a charity organization that gives nonprofit organizations the opportunity to raise money through exclusive experiences, and their latest campaign is absolutely incredible. They’ve partnered with Tiesto and Sweet Relief Muscians Fund to support musicians in need. The grand prize winner and a friend will be flown to Las Vegas on June 20 to meet with Tiesto backstage before his performance at Hakkasan Nightclub. Hotel will also be included. All you have to do is pop over to WeWondr.com and get a raffle ticket. Each dollar donated represents one ticket entry into the raffle, and all donations will benefit Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, who provide assistance to musicians who are struggling to make ends meet while facing illness, disability, or age-related problems. Again, all you have to do is head to Wondr’s website and snag your raffle ticket. Winners will be announced in a few weeks.
