Washington, DC’s Trillectro festival returns on August 23rd to the new locale of the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds for its third year as a premier destination point for those observing the nexus of urban and EDM cultures. The festival’s name is a portmanteau of “trill” and electro,” and over the past three years, names including inaugural year headliner Flosstradamus, as well as a sold out event last year featuring Wale, A$AP Ferg, Carnage, Travi$ Scott, Goldroom, and A$AP Rocky, the expectation for year three (though no acts have been named) should be to expect something similar, or more. What is already known is that the festival’s sponsor list has grown to now include Events DC, Heineken, Reebok and prior festival sponsor Karmaloop, with more to be announced. Saying that they’re “thrilled to host this rapidly-growing, organically curated music festival on the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds,” Erik A. Moses, managing director of Events DC’s Sports and Entertainment Division promises that “Trillectro [will] become the newest star in a rich history of musical events that have inhabited the RFK Stadium campus for over 50 years.” Clearly, the festival is growing and should be one (of many) summer stories to follow.
