Avicii Says Don’t Call “#TRUE” Country; It’s Closer to Folk

In this interview with Fuse, Avicii catches them up on some of the behind the scenes info on his forthcoming debut album, #TRUE. He said that during his downtime due to health issues, he ended up basing himself in LA, surrounding himself with great songwriters, and involving himself heavily in completing the record. In speaking on the use of banjo and other elements in his new songs, he stresses that it’s not country, but more “folk.” We figure ravers don’t want to hear that, either, but Avicii is about pushing the limit and making things a bit more accessible than what’s in the mix, which is where this whole EDM thing is going, isn’t it?
