It’s always interesting when electronic music producers translate their tracks into a live performance. Acts like Disclosure show how you can incorporate your machines and actual performance into it, while people like Four Tet bring an array of machines, allowing himself the ability to improvise and expand on the themes in his productions. BBC Radio 1′s Residency recently took trip to the historic Maida Vale Studios, a number of electronic music producers were invited to perform live. Luckily, the cameras were rolling, and we got a great peak inside what makes these tracks tick. Check out Machinedrum, TR\ER, Throwing Snow, Mount Kimbie, Blue Daisy, Martyn, Klangkarussell, TR\ER, and Alix Perez translating their tunes into live soundscapes. Highlights include Alix Perez and a live drummer, as well as Machinedrum strapping on his guitar and really making “Infinite Us” soar.
