I'm not sure about you, but my love for dance music stemmed from a love of making music electronically. It was never about a specific genre, just the manipulation of music with machines. And while that's naturally a huge part of the EDM scene, I've spent most of my life falling in love with the different ways producers of many genres craft dope beats. One such movement is TeamBackPack's "The Beat Show," which pairs up promising producers in a live environment and lets them run wild. We've seen what can happen when someone like araabMUZIK gets bit by the live performance bug; he puts his MPC through WORK in a live environment. This isn't that, but it is an extension of hip-hop producers stepping outside of their studios and catching wreck, allowing them to be equally recognized in this game.

TeamBackPack will be lacing us with weekly videos highlighting producers performing live at The Beat Show, and the first such artist is a guy by the name of G_Force. G_Force was born in Eugene, Oregon, but upon moving to Portland, his work in the music scene started to erupt. He was a drummer in a rock band, Medium Troy, that played on the Warped Tour, and as a producer has worked with the likes of Planet Asia, Strong Arm Steady, Braille, Illmaculate, and El Guante. He's been covered everywhere from 2DopeBoyz to Jay Z's Life+Times, has toured the world, and has even produced music for TV, film, and video games. Today? It's all about him doing the damn thing as a live act. This isn't seven minutes of a simple boom bap; this is G_Force taking you on a real journey.
