We love how these things work. Illangelo, who is known for his work with The Weeknd and Drake, fits into the Bromance machine like a glove. Considering how many producers talk about dipping into the gray area between R&B and electronic music, Illangelo’s already pulled up a chair and is like “sup?” when they walk in. His latest, the Phlo Finister collaboration “Clockwork,” was apparently supposed to just be a tune for a Bromance compilation (and it was released back in May on Bromance #16), but it actually turned into a new duo with Phlo and Illangelo, Youthquaker.
Apparently this project “was inspired by a love of 60′s/70′s music and film mixed with 90′s trip hop as well as the famous Youthquake movement of 1960s fashion, musical and cultural movement coined by Vogue’s editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland in 1965.” Word is their debut album, Projections, will be released in a series of EPs. Volume I is set to drop this summer. For now, get a bit of that Youthquaker vibe via this bleek new video.
