Last week, I fell head over heels in love with Moody Good's remix of Slum Village's "Fall In Love," not realizing who Moody Good was. Imagine my surprise when I read that Moody Good is Eddie Jefferys, FKA 1/2 of the dubstep group 16bit. He was featured on additional production duties for Chase & Status' "Gangsta Boogie VIP," and has credits for Foreign Beggars and Plan B. And with the forthcoming Moody Good LP (which is due out in June via MTA and OWSLA), we have a feeling this will be his best outing yet.
"Musicbx" definitely flips a twinkling melody and while not overpowering it, adds some fuzzy, heavy bass and drums underneath. It's really sly how he can straddle those worlds, and the video for the tune is just as nutty. It's one of those clips where you replace one thing that's generally seen as very bad and put another addiction that's accepted, and legal, and show how people would react if it was treated just as badly.
