Although some albums' greatness are immediately apparent, it's always something different when you can't quite figure out why you love an album. Oneohtrix Point Never's Warp Records debut album R Plus Seven was exactly that this year. It's abstract, it's "weird" and it's breathtaking. If you're looking to rage, this isn't your record. This is about sitting down and picking apart the samples, the sounds, the emotions, the sound FX and the semiotics of it all. There's an expansiveness to the record that'll be hard to consume for most people, but I assure you this is something that I can't stop coming back to. If you want a taste of what I'm talking about, check out this new visual for "Boring Angel," the first track on the album.
