To ramp up the interest in his upcoming album on Donky Pitch dropping August 18, Chicago's 267th favorite son, Starfoxxx, has put out a video mixtape that combines layers of found internet video footage with music from upcoming album. It's a really crazy watch that mines nostalgia, loss, lust and longing as well as life's small pleasures. Because I'm a cool guy, I've had the privilege of listening to the album for the last few weeks and I have to say it's an amazing journey. It's the output of a man with a wide and varied musical palette who isn't afraid to channel his feelings and experiences into the music. Plus, it has the best fucking name of an album I've ever heard: Baby I'm Off Drugs and I'm Ready To Marry You. As he told THUMP earlier this this week, it's based on a recent phase where he was falling in love with an ex-girlfriend.
Enjoy. This is, I think, the first chance people will get to hear most of the tracks from the album. Feel privileged for that.
