It’s 2014 and no artist or band is going to pop without a unique mixed media approach. Not only does the music have to be on point, but the the visuals and everything together. For The Seshen, a new seven-piece band out of the Bay, it seems they’ve already got it with the new single, “2000 Seasons.” Working with director, artist and designer, Emalyn Lopez, cinematographer and editor Roxann Reyes, and special effects and animation from hypoetical.net, The Seshen delivers a hypnotic new single complete with stunning visuals.
Mixing a nostalgic 1970′s retro-science fiction blaxploitation vibe with the seductive sophistication of a classic James Bond film, “2000 Seasons” is quite the trip for The Seshen. Shimmering pads collide with cinematic ’70s psychedelic rock (think The Doors, Beatles, Beach Boys), and Sun Ra soundscapes supported by thick sub-bass. There’s really no doubt here that it won’t be long before The Seshen is playing the bigger festivals. Really impressed with this entire thing and really excited to hear about their upcoming EP on Tru Thoughts. The eclectic band is one to watch.
